What is happening?
Book of Travels is now on the closing soon list, but this is not a full disappearance of the game. Developer Might and Delight has confirmed that the online servers for Book of Travels will shut down on July 31, 2026. After that date, the game will no longer operate as an online shared-world RPG, but it will continue as an offline single-player experience.
The studio says players will be able to download characters tied to their accounts and move them into local save files before the servers go offline. This means existing players should log in before the shutdown date, download their characters, and confirm that they are available in offline play. After the server closure, online features will end, but the preserved offline version will remain playable.
Might and Delight is also allowing modding, which gives the community a chance to keep expanding or reshaping the game after official online service ends. The offline version has also been adjusted for solo play, including changes such as lowered requirements for Endeavours, increased base inventory volume, and unlimited Trainmaster's Stash space in offline mode.
