What is happening?

Lastminute.com.au is now officially moving to the closing soon list. The Australian travel booking website and app, now part of Expedia Group, will stop taking new bookings from June 2, 2026. From that date, users looking to book hotels, flights, car hire, packages, or activities will be redirected to Expedia instead.

The shutdown is being handled in phases. Customers can continue making bookings through Lastminute.com.au until May 15, 2026 for travel within the next nine months. After that, bookings will only be allowed for trips completed by November 1, 2026. Existing reservations will not be affected, and users will still be able to modify or cancel their bookings through their account or Trips page after the closure date.

Lastminute.com.au has been active in Australia for more than 25 years, originally launching in 2000 before later becoming part of the Expedia-owned Wotif Group. Expedia says the move is part of a regular review of its brand portfolio and that future booking activity will shift to Expedia. Once all outstanding trips are completed and serviced, Lastminute.com.au accounts, booking history, website access, and app access will be shut down permanently.
