What is happening?

Peridot Mobile is now officially on the shutdown list. Niantic Spatial has confirmed that the AR virtual pet game is being sunset, with the closure process already underway. In-app purchases were disabled on April 23, 2026, and players can only use their remaining in-game currency and items until the service ends. The app will be removed from the App Store and Google Play on May 14, 2026, but existing players who keep it installed will still be able to play for a limited time. The final shutdown is scheduled for August 31, 2026, when Peridot's servers will close and the mobile game will no longer be accessible. Players who want their account data must request it by July 31, 2026.

For players, this means Dots, collected items, and mobile game progress will effectively become unavailable once the servers go offline. Niantic is encouraging users to save Dot Cards, screenshots, and videos before the closure date. The company also clarified that the broader Peridot franchise is not fully ending, as related mixed-reality experiences like Hello, Dot and Peridot Beyond will remain separate from the mobile shutdown.
